At C.A.Stevens Builders, we apply a process that allows us to fully understand our customer’s unique requirements and provide a completed project that they are totally satisfied with. From the initial design consultation to the final walk through, we provide excellent customer service and an experienced team of tradesmen to give you the home renovation or new construction that you have been dreaming of. Our process is tried and true, as we have built many beautiful projects for customers year after year.
Initial Meeting & Design Consultation To determine exactly that your project goals are and to document what you are envisioning for your renovations, our team of expert designers will work with you to put your ideas on paper so that we can create a plan to give you exactly what you’re looking for. We will jot down your requirements and wish list, and learn everything we can about the scope of the project you’re looking to have completed. We can show a variety of examples of similar work that we have completed, so you can be assured your project is in the hands of an experienced professional.
During this free consultation, we will discuss your desired budget and work with you to address your wishes while ensuring that they fit within your budget. We will take any dimensions we need of your home, and take photos so that we can create a unique design that works for you and your home. At this time, we will also establish project timelines so that you can get a realistic idea of when specific milestones will be taking place and when you can expect to have your project completed. We can answer any questions you may have during the consultation, and provide you with everything you need to get excited about your upcoming home renovation project, including drawings or sketches of your project. Once you have reviewed the initial concept we have provided you, you can make any desired changes and we can begin to finalize details so that your vision is clearly defined and we’re ready to make it come true.
Final Blueprints and Design Concepts Once you have approved the initial design concepts, we will finalize your budget. Our team of local professional architects will then work on drafting up the blueprints for your project. A strong knowledge of design principles and a high level of technique is used to create the blueprints that will be used to build your home construction project to your specifications. We work with some of the best architects in the business, whom we have had long standing relationships with. We stand behind their work just as we stand behind our own. Next comes the fun part; selecting the products that will be used to create your unique and beautifully designed project. From various materials and finishes, to different styles and textures, the sky is the limit. Our designers will work closely with you to help you choose the best pieces for your project.
Obtaining Necessary Building Permits After the blueprints are produced and you have approved them, an application for a building permit will be submitted. Building permit approval typically takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks, however we will be working in the background to ensure your project stays on schedule. Once the permit is attained, you can rest easy knowing that every aspect of your project is going to be handled properly and professionally.
Project Management While waiting for permits, our team will put together a timeline beginning with a tentative project start date and including important milestones that we will strive to meet during the project. A designated project manager will oversee the project to ensure we are meeting deadlines and following our timeline as closely as possible. The project manager is also responsible for reporting our progress back to you and answering any questions you may have during the construction. If at any time unforeseen events occur, you will be the first to know. We believe communication between us and you, the customer, is key to a successful project and overall client satisfaction. During the project, we spend a lot of time onsite overseeing the property and ensuring it is maintained. You can feel comfortable knowing that the project is running efficiently and according to the project plan.
Construction Begins We will do our very best not to inconvenience you at any time during the project, however we are committed to keeping you informed of the progress that is made and making you aware of any issues that might arise. We will not interrupt your daily routine and understand that sometimes you may be living in your home while the project is taking place. We will be respectful at all times, and try to be unobtrusive whenever possible. We will keep the project site clean by providing dumpsters and minimizing any debris and dust that may arise from the construction. We want you to be excited as you watch us complete the project piece by piece, while keeping your stress level low.
Project Completion and Walk Through When we get to the final stages of the project, we will take you on a walk through to ensure the project has been completed according to your specifications and there are no issues. Customer satisfaction is one of the most important elements to our work, so any concerns you might have will be documented and fixed before your project is complete. We stand behind our work, and want to make sure our customers always walk away completely satisfied with the work we have done for them.
